I’d tell the interviewers the truth and hope they will decide to employ me.

Say that you have actively been seeking employment for the past month and a half.

Employers understand that people lose their jobs for whatever reason, and that the job market ***** right now. They won’t hold it against you.

makes it easier to accept a job right away if you’re unemployed.. It’s no big deal. Just be yourself. Don’t try and be someone you think the employer wants you to be. It’ll just make you look weird. Just be yourself.

You have been actively pursuing your job search trying to find the right fit.

The more challenging question you are going to run into is why you are no longer at your last position. Here is a link to some common job interview questions with answers. I hope it is helpful.

I have been keeping myself busy with my reading and helping my family in the house.

Tell them the truth. Everyone understands how easy it is to be unemployed and how long it could take to find something new.

Use your experience on your past jobs to show off what you excel at, and why you have the most to offer them.
